Ezumakeeg

Today's list!! Black Stork, Glossy Ibis, Pacific Golden Plover, Buff-breasted Sandpiper, 2 Broad-billed Sandpipers, Marsh Sandpiper and 6 Caspian Terns. Of which I managed to see only one Broad-billed during a 10-minute visit. Nice bird-fresh juvenile plumage-no time for better pictures!

Ezumakeeg

Caspian Terns are arriving, today there were at least 2 adult and 2 juveniles of these impressive terns. No luck with the Gull-billed and Glossy Ibis but there was much to see this week; good numbers of Golden Plover are arriving, also many Little Stints and Temminks and a short staying and distant-as-always juvenile Red-necked Phalarope.
Flies are abundant and the easy meal has gathered a big flock of Yellow and White Wagtails. Several juvenile Citrine Wagtails have appeared already in Germany and I surely will keep track of this flock!

And big flocks of birds attract predators, today a Hobby was to fast for me but some days ago a Sparrowhawk cought a White Wagtail and gave a nice show;

Oh sorry, still alive? Wait a moment...

 More wagtails later!

Southern summer @undisclosed location

OK, you will probably know so I will not mention the location here. But the sight is amazing, Whiskered Terns are everywhere, many juveniles have fledged but others are still in down and I think several pairs are still breeding. Also Glossy Ibis, 3 White Storks and many Black-necked Grebes.

Frogs, Salamanders, Larvae, it does not matter as long as it is big and tasty!

The Pallid Harrier is still summering in Drente and is moulting, interesting plumage! Hope it stays.

Ezumakeeg

Exciting again; many Little Stints and Curlew Sands, some Temminks and the Pectoral still present. Sharp-tailed is in the air! (all digiscoped images)

Last one not Ezumakeeg of course! Could be France, Greece, surely not Groningen!?
