See below for the Yellow-browed Warblers, I will start with a Little Bunting. A tame Little Bunting. It had been caught some days before and collected a shining blue metal ring. Now here is a challenge; photograph it from the left so the ring does not show.
Next challenge; the bright sun. Helgoland often has clear weather with a strong sun. Not my favourite lighting condition... But the bunting was feeding so close that it offered the ability to put in the shade, the shade of the photographer:-) Now that's better!
But there was also a fall of Yelllow-browed Warblers. Below some examples of the flexible habitat-choice of this long-distance Asian migrant;

Other records included Red-breasted Flycatcher (see previous posting for picture), Peregrines, Merlin, Ring Ouzel, Jack Snipes, a Bluethroat, Wood Warbler, Firecrest, Crossbill, Shorelark and a variaty of the more common migrants.
